Change Islands Garden Party

Introduction

The Change Islands Garden Party is an Annual weekend event that happens at the first week in August. The idea for the garden party came about when the Fire Department held a meeting to see how they could raise monies to support the Fire Hall. Twenty five years ago they started with a garden party which was a great success. This event has been ongoing the first week in August for the past 25 years. The Firettes have also been a great help in organizing this annual event.

Events

Wednesday - Friday
From Aug 2nd to Aug 4th Celebrations will begin with a Beer tent and burger stand.

Friday Night:
A teenage dance held on Friday night, either at the S.U.F. Hall or at A.R. Scammell Academy.

Saturday Night:
Saturday starts with dinner at the S.U.F. Hall (food donated by the people of Change Islands).Games of Chance, Fire Truck Rides, Horse Rides and Boat Rides start at 2 PM . The final event of the weekend is an Adult Dance on Saturday Night at 10 PM at the S.U.F. Hall. (Tickets sold at D.M.S. Enterprises $10 each)

July Fest

Introduction

The July Fest Is a annual Change Islands event that grew out of 3 other Celebrations, Gathering On the Rocks, 50th Anniversary, and Come Home Years. July Fest is now 5 years running and usually occurs Mid-July, and lasts for around 5 days with various events such as:

• Pony rides
• Boat rides
• Games of Chance
• A bouncy castle for kids
• Meals at the School
• Newfie Night
• Family Night
• A concert, consisting of local residents in many different skits.
• Dances
• A pit fire with fireworks
